CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8060A10 is a gaming PC that proves you don’t need lots of money get an impressive – in both looks and hardware – machine. With most midrange gaming rigs hitting roller-coaster prices, this one includes cutting edge components, including the latest 10th generation processor, a GTX 1660 Super graphics card and decent connectivity in a more sensible affair.

That’s not to say it’s lacking in the looks department, however. It features a similar aggressive design to the CyberpowerPC Gamer SLC8260A2, but with a perforated front panel that make it more unique than what you find in the rest of pre-built gaming PCs.

Design

As we mentioned earlier, the CyberpowerPC Gamer GXiVR8060A10 comes in a familiar CyberPowerPC chassis that looks great, thanks to a trio of LED circles on the front panel. The lights on the front panel are an eye catcher, and a CyberpowerPC logo on the bottom does a good job breaking the monotony of a flat panel.

It’s set on a MasterBox NR640 case that measures 18.8 x 8.2 x 18.60 and has a tempered glass side panel, that reveal the neat cable work on the inside, and illuminates the LED-lit rear fan. It doesn’t come with an optical drive, but you have front easy access port for convenience when connecting your external peripherals.

Talking of connectivity, the Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8060A10 has a total of six USB 3.1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port and a 7.1 audio channel output. If you need to to a multi-monitor setup, there’s HDMI and DisplayPort; and, wireless connectivity come in way of 802.11AC Wi-Fi.

Performance

For a machine designed for gamers, packing a 10th generation Intel Core i5-10400F processor, 8GB RAM, and 500GB solid state drive (SSD)makes it an equally competent candidate for productivity. Out of the box, this is enough power. For web browsing, medium media creation -including photo-editing, among other productivity tasks that need some muscle.

Now, back to gaming, the Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8060A10 rocks a 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Suer graphics, a mid-tier chip that delivers decent frames rates on most titles played at high settings and 1080p resolutions. For instance, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey plays at 76 fps, while Far Cry New Dawn plays at 89 fps, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 81 fps all played at high settings and 1080p resolution.

The fact that this machine manages to deliver over 60fps on modern titles makes it a perfect candidate for enthusiast gamers who are keen to take gaming seriously, or those buying a rig that can be upgraded later into something bigger.

For the pro-gamers who need to play at higher resolutions, maybe 4K at Ultra settings, the HP Omen Obelisk (875-1023) and the CyberpowerPC Gamer GXiVR8080A7 are great alternatives, both featuring Nvidia’s flagship GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER (8GB) graphics cards.

Bottom Line

This year’s CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme is an excellent update that packs some worthwhile hardware revisions, while keeping the eye-catching form factor. The design is unique and refreshed, with some subtle touches for PC gamers, and there’s plenty of power and upgrade potential in the MasterBox NR640 case. And we love it for all that.

Gaming at 1080p is excellent, with even te latest games running silky-smooth at high graphical settings. It’s not the most powerful gaming PC on the market, however, but if you’re looking for an affordable killer gaming PC that can handle 1080p well, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8060A10 is an excellent choice.
